The Color Career Counselor FAQ

Q. Is the test scientifically valid?
A. Yes, this evaluation is the result of 12 years of research. If you need more information about the revolutionary Color Career Counselor non-language test, please refer to our test credentials as published in the North American Journal of Psychology (Dec 07) conducted by world famous psychometric expert Dr. Rense Lange at deweycolorsystem.com.

Q. Were my test results derived from my answers to my current job title and job satisfaction?
A. No, the Color Career Counselor evaluation is the result of only your color choices. All questions, including "current job title" and "job satisfaction," are to assist with building a new test −The Dewey Career Predictor, which will prioritize how one's personality best fits with the USA's top 600+ jobs.

Q. What if my career is not listed?
A. We used the US Labor Department's job description list. Regrettably, several industry-specific careers were not listed. If you can't find a career category match, look for a similar job in a similar industry. With 3000+ industry/job categories listed, there will be one close to your career.

Q. What if my recommended careers just don't fit?
A. In addition to a career test's most common output of your selected career preferences, this system reveals your core motivation beyond self-perception. Read the general comments again. Do they reflect what you do when you are not at work? If not, retake the test. This time disassociate prior opinions about certain colors. Let the colors pick you. (If you work with color, this is especially difficult.)

Q. What if I don't believe in "color tests"?
A. Don't let bad past experiences keep you from accepting the self truth of this world-first, patented, scientifically valid, color personality testing system.

Q. If my colors change, how can it be a test?
A. The vibrant testing colors in this evaluation do not change significantly. In developing this test, we took advantage of an earlier study which indicated, "The more vibrant the hue, the more the reaction." The Dewey Color System created a scientifically valid testing instrument by using hue-saturated colors.

As part of the validation process, we conducted a test/retest evaluation at Georgia State University. Students within a three-month interval selected the same colors with a high statistical significance. By using vibrant hue colors, along with black, white and brown, we proved that color preference is innate.

Q. What if a potential career is not listed on my profile?
A. In considering any new career, listed or not, put aside the glamour and status that you feel about being in a certain career. Consider your profile's personality type and the day-to-day duties of each potential career choice. Then ask yourself, "How would I feel at the end of my workday-stressful or exhilarated?" Not coincidently, success happens to those that are having fun.

Q. Can the test make me successful in my current career?
A. Now that the naked facts about you have been exposed, review your profile weekly as an on-going, self-evaluation, success barometer. Chances are, on-the-job, you will find a way to avoid unpleasant routines or stressful experiences. Use the Color Career Counselor's advice to determine when best to speak-up and request enjoyable projects or new duties. Career clarity is very possibly your most important workplace tool.
